As a little girl, I slept in an intricately carved antique four-poster bed made out of mahogany with elaborate pineapples on the top. This inspired dreams of adventures in far-off lands, and made me feel secure with a place I called all my own. Later in life, I was still trying to evoke the feeling of being cocooned by my childhood bed. So I began making various fabric canopies for my bed. Pretty soon family and friends began asking for a canopy bed too. Thus the idea for Kismet was born.

Kismet, a favorite dice game of my youth, literally means fate or destiny; when all things come together, which conjures up exotic locations, sweet dreams and fun filled fantasies. The canopies evoke just that- a dreamy wrap, a special accent to complement your bed.
